God Påske

Nøgne Ø God Påske, not a big fan of Easter beers I have to say as I have not been impressed by too many of the Swedish and Danish ones that are available to us every year. Hello, Nøgne Ø God Påske where have you been hiding all these years, this beer is great, but I still don’t believe that there is a need for an Easter beer. Right off the bat, this beer looked appealing with its copper to red brick colour and light yellow scum. Talking of scum, there was plenty of skumbananer in this beer also which was the first hint that the beer style was Belgian.

What a great aroma to this beer of caramel, hops juice and some exotic fruits. Must be the Chinook that is bringing this great aroma, getting back to the fruits is has some pineapple and apricots for sure. As with the majority of beers the aroma was better than the taste, not that this beer did not taste good but my expectations were sky high after the first impressions. More caramel, sticky toffee here with some honey sweetness, yeasty and some spice like coriander or possibly nutmeg. Great mix of toasted malts, caramel, fruits, sweetness, hops, bitterness, nuts, spices and honey, like this beer a lot and hope to try it again soon, highly recommended.
