Kissmeyer Naked Kiss

Nøgne Ø Kissmeyer Naked Kiss is an Imperial Porter that is a collaboration brew with non other than Anders Kissmeyer. Who is this guy you may ask? well Anders did the 1st ever collaboration brew with Nøgne Ø back in 2006 and the beer back then was called Double Knot Brown. Anders worked 16 years at Carlsberg before starting Nørrebro Bryghus and in 2010 Anders left to start Kissmeyer Beer & Brewing.

Nøgne Ø Imperial Brown Ale was my 1st beers from Nøgne Ø and a favourite for many years, so I expect a lot when i hear about this 2nd collaboration with Anders. Imperial Porter brewed with blackcurrant, in the aroma i get lots of blackcurrant along with coffee and dark malts. At 11,5% there is some alcohol in the aroma, dark chocolate and dark fermented fruits like dates and plums.

I was not gone on the aroma and when it comes to the flavor it was not getting any better for me. The beer is both sweet and sour from the balckcurrant addition, also quite boozy. I dont like the taste as all and it seems to be too much of a mix, probably a great Imperial Porter without the backcurrant, but with the berries it turns sour and bitter. Dark maltiness is there, more roasted to ashy, no this is not my type of beer.
